Post #123: TWD's "Pick Me Up" Cake

Otherwise known as Tiramisu Cake!

I FINALLY finished it. Too tired to write much about it, but here is the finished product.

From Tiramisu Cake

I used Michael's Irish Whiskey liquer, instead of the Bailey's.  I also used strong, day old coffee in lieu of the overpriced espresso powder.  Overall, this is an intermediate-level cake to make when rated on the difficulty scale.  I had some trouble with the frosting, but I think this was due more to my fatigue and impatience than the recipe.  I do plan on making this one again!

From Tiramisu Cake

Thanks so much, Megan from My Baking Adventure, for choosing this version of Tiramisu, a dessert I love and have always wanted to try. Now, I have.

I tasted an itsy bitsy taste and it was really good. I could taste my favorite flavors of chocolate, coffee, and  Irish whiskey!  What more could Gabe's Girl ask for?

Thanks to my hubby for chopping my chocolate and taking these pictures after I dragged him away from what he was doing to come and play photographer!

Yes, he is home! So, I may be scarce.

In the meantime, go see what the lovely ladies and gents over at TWD made this week!

Beautiful! I finish so many desserts late at night, and at some point I just want it to be done, and don't really care how it turns out, but they never turn out as well as yours. Enjoy your husband's time at home.

Well you certainly did a great job on the cake and your husband certainly did a great job on the photos...I say you make one very fine team. Our team consists of wife making dessert, photographing dessert, etc., and husband EATING dessert. LOL. That's pretty much been his extent of involvement in the whole process. There might be hope though... Great looking cake and I love the treatment of the outside of it!

A lot of times cakes don't interest me that much in pictures because they look so set up but I want to eat this piece right now!
