From Brownie Buttons

Jayma, thanks for choosing this really easy recipe for our TWD weekly challenge. I loved it because it was so easy and so versatile. This past Saturday, I had my circle of friends over for a small celebration for our summer birthdays. The party's theme was tapas, so I made these small dessert dainties for the occasion. I went crazy decorating them. The moist, firm brownie button was the perfect background for  creative toppings, especially since each button was individually wrapped. I used not only white chocolate, but went crazy with dark chocolate ganache, chocolate shavings, peanut butter frosting, toffee bits, and peanut butter chips. The platter looked like a dream. The batter was rich and robust with chocolate which came as no surprise, since the smell of the chocolate mixture as it heated on the stove was so decadent and dreamy! This is a great recipe.

Even though this recipe is easy to follow and make, I still went to my "test kitchen" and discovered that you could use regular brownie mix in a pinch. Add a diet soda to the brownie mix and you could save some calories and ingredients. Just fill your mini muffin cups and proceed with baking for 14-16 minutes.

I can hardly wait to try next week's Applesauce Spice Bars. Sounds like a good treat for the kids with school about to start and all!

Be sure to check out the other batches of buttons over at the TWD blogroll! Should be some great stuff over there!

What a fabulous variety of toppings for these brownie buttons! Good thing you didn't invite me to the party -- I would have felt compelled to try every single one. ;-)

That's a tasty looking collection of brownies! I have heard of the diet soda and cake mix/brownie mix, but never believed it actually works. Crazy.
